Meditation and Yoga in your daily routine

I’ve been going to a very rough period lately and it just happens to be in the middle of the break of my Kundalini Yoga class. Usually I get a lot of relaxation and stress relief from the lessons, but now I have to figure out a way to do this on my own. So I want to incorporate meditation and yoga into my daily routine.

Hatha Yoga vs. Kundalini Yoga

Recently, I’ve started Hatha yoga and it’s been great! I’m still doing Kundalini too, but I’ve found that if I want peace of mind, I have to go to a lesson by my wonderful teacher Edith Schrijver to get my head cleared. I’ll explain what’s the difference between the two kinds of yoga in this post.

A quick update!

I’ve not been able to post much lately, since I’m too busy and have been without internet for a while, but that’s going to change! I’m first going to take a lovely break from everything and I’m making a trip through Southern India, which I’m very excited about and I’ll write about the Indian culture and all my experiences when I get back in December.

Lots of ideas, but no time to write!

I’m currently extremely busy. I’m moving to this wonderful new apartment with Daan & Piko. I’ve found a great job that I’m applying for and I’m also writing my dissertation & graduating. I’m really enjoying my busy life!

My master course, Digital Games: Theory and Design, is organising a post graduate conference. It’s a really interesting line-up: Peter Molyneux, Barry Atkins, Richard Bartle and not to mention my own teachers: Tanya Krzywinska, Douglas Brown & Justin Parsler. I can’t make it unfortunately, but I hope it’ll be a huge success! Check out their site HERE.

Everyday I have an urge to write a post about something I’ve seen or did, but I simply can’t find the time to do it. So after this busy period is over, I’ll write about all the things that I haven’t gotten around to doing: World of Warcraft, The Perfect Vagina, Xena, As The World Turns, Yoga, Disney Classics.

Review Kundalini Yoga

Verdict: 10

Kundalini Yoga is one of the best things that happened to me! That’s why it gets 10 out of 10. It has changed my life and it reprogrammed my body and mind into this state of happiness and acceptance. I’m not a (total) hippy, I’m not very alternative, I’m interested in spirituality yet not always so keen about talking bout feelings and I’m certainly not very limber or athletic (I love my curves, not gonna change a thing bout those). But Kundalini Yoga is totally awesome and everyone can do it!

Gaming & TV: a passive experience?

Over the passed few weeks I’ve been doing a lot of yoga and reading up on literature about the ego, the pain-body and other interesting spiritual subjects. I’ve noticed that I don’t want to sit behind my pc that much anymore, even TV is boring me and that might come as a shock to people close to me. Lately I’ve been wondering what’s causing this and I think it has something to do with passivity of the body.
