Guitar Hero Fever

25 December, 2008 at 14:20 (games) (, , , , , , )

It’s probably not going to last long, but lately I’ve fallen in love with Guitar Hero. It wasn’t love at first sight, I can tell you that much, but over time it has grabbed me and pulled me in. Now I’m trapped in a world full of rock, guitars and smelly ugly men.

Love and Media

23 December, 2008 at 15:02 (spirituality) (, , , , , , )

My friend Owen send me this article which totally confirmed what I’ve been feeling and thinking for years: media consumptions messes up your love life. The article basically states that viewing romantic movies makes you have unrealistic expectations about your own romantic relationships. The sad thing is that it’s true. I’ve had this happen to me multiple times, but always remained fairly ‘grounded’ because of my extremely grounded better half.

Me & My Katamari (PSP)

21 December, 2008 at 14:45 (games) (, )

Hyper rainbow, disco dancing, a king with a tight bathing suit and a big Katamari, these are the ingredients for this wonderful wacky game! You are asked by different kinds of animals to help them get an island of their own. You can accomplish this by making a huge Katamari. After you get your mission you will be launched by a catapult or by a volcano to the place where the mission starts. There is a huge ball, the Katamari, which you can roll around and all objects smaller than the Katamari will be glued to it instantly. This way your Katamari will keep on getting bigger and bigger as you can see in the video below.

Hatha Yoga vs. Kundalini Yoga

19 December, 2008 at 12:13 (spirituality) (, , , , , )

Recently, I’ve started Hatha yoga and it’s been great! I’m still doing Kundalini too, but I’ve found that if I want peace of mind, I have to go to a lesson by my wonderful teacher Edith Schrijver to get my head cleared. I’ll explain what’s the difference between the two kinds of yoga in this post.

How would I redesign World of Warcraft?

17 December, 2008 at 14:32 (games) (, , , )

The Wrath of the Lich King is out and my WoW-spider-sense is tingling. Should I pick up the game again or not? Why did I quit in the first place? And when I started to remember all the reasons, I thought: they should totally redesign the entire game! And I’ve got a few tips on how to make WoW more interesting.

Fable: The Lost Chapters (Xbox)

14 December, 2008 at 15:00 (games) (, , , , )

Since I still haven’t finished playing Fable II and I’m currently having trouble finishing it, since I’m bored out of my mind, I’ll entertain you with an old review on Fable (dated 2006). Enjoy!

A young boy loses all he knows to a band of thugs that plunder his village. His father gets killed before his own eyes, his mother and sister get abducted. You might think his life is over and it would have been if it wasn’t for the guild of heroes!

In Fable you play the role of a young man who, trough a twist of fate, gets a chance to be a hero in the medieval world of Albion. You have to train, fulfil missions and save the world to become the ultimate and most famous hero in the country, but mostly you just want to loose you status as ‘chicken chaser’ which is given to you at the start of your heroic life. During this game you will be the most occupied with gaining experience by completing quests or killing opponents. With this experience you can create, customize and develop your own unique character. From the moment I started the game I was addicted, it was a Black & White déjà vu…

Inspiring elephants

12 December, 2008 at 16:02 (other interesting stuff, spirituality) (, , , , , , )

On the video you can see me and a keeper playing with baby elephant Sheba. During my time in India I was touched by the elephants there. Here in the Netherlands we don’t have elephants and we can only view them in zoos. In India it’s very different. There are elephant gods, temple elephants, working elephants and wild elephants. I seized every opportunity I had to see elephants and have had different experiences that I will share with you in this post.

Britney: For The Record? Right…

10 December, 2008 at 17:45 (movies & TV) (, , , , )

I just finished watching Britney: For The Record and I was left sad. I hoped this documentary would take away some of my concerns about this pop idol, but it created new ones. Britney was being controlled by others, but now it seems like she has lost passion and fire and she’s still not in control.
