Disney Classics: Aladdin Part 1
The classical story of a poor boy acquiring the power of a genie, marrying the princess and becoming sultan of the kingdom is my favourite and ultimate Disney movie. Not only did I fall in love with the characters and the music, it also still fuels my fascination for fairy tales. I’m fascinated by the concept of Aladdin and own several different versions of this classical tale. Several versions of this story are extremely chauvinistic and discriminate against woman. In those versions Aladdin wasn’t the romantic, handsome hero, but a cruel, conniving and evil man that only wanted to use the princess to gain power. However, Disney, the master of telling tales, creates such a wonderful, childfriendly, swinging and romantic story that I wanted to do an in-depth analysis of this incredibly inspiring animated movie.
Piko #3: Shy
Here’s a picture taken by my friend Bregtje. Piko’s sitting on a wall in our yard. He has an incredibly cuddly and outgoing personality, but he is also incredibly shy. He always hides when there are new people coming over. And he cautiously approaches them. Piko immediately determines if he likes a person or not. He has never liked my dad or my brother. When he hears them from a distance he runs and hides. I think he determines if he likes the person or not by the sound of the voice. If you have a really energetic voice that’s loud, he’ll probably stay away from you until you calm down. But, since he loves his food, if you’re standing in the kitchen you’ll always get cuddled by him.

Chauvinistic Pigs and Heartless Bitches
Recently I’ve stumbled upon two equally disturbing groups that are both incredibly ignorant and intolerant. I should just ignore them and not bother with them, but their pure stupidity makes so incredibly angry and upset that I can’t resist put to write something about them and to explain exactly why their total idiots.
Meet the chauvinistic pigs – the seduction community – and the Heartless Bitches. Both of them seem to originate from a reaction. For the seduction community it’s the rejection of the dating world and the heartless bitches it’s the wrongful treatment of women. Both of them, however, have become exactly what they are against in the first place and they appear to thrive in it. This is what I call stupidity. They don’t have any sense of what’s integrity, morally acceptable or simply intelligent. I’d first like to deal with the men and then the women. The women annoy me a lot more, to be honest, simply because it involves my own gender and it’s such a ridiculous reactionary attitude.
Piko #2: The Rascal
Piko settled in really nicely and he immediately became very active and playful. At first he wasn’t the cuddly heap of love that he is now. He was just bursting with energy. Here you can see him at his favourite activity for that period: attacking my pointer on the screen! He’s still so little on these pics.
Even now (he’s almost 4 years old) he’s still causing mischief. For one, he always tries to push everything of our desks. He attacks us when we walk up and down the stairs. And he attacks our many cables (from our computers), which he obviously views as some kind of monsters. He’s quite the coward though, he used to get in fights a lot and get smacked around by the other cats. When we come out to play with him (don’t worry, he lives inside, he just is outside most of the day), he parades us around the neighbourhood and makes sure all the other cats quickly retreat to their homes.
